Project: Iris Prize Youth Jury 2014 sponsored by Cardiff University
Date: Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October 2014, 10am – 4.30pm
Venue: Chapter and Park Inn City Centre, Cardiff.

Iris Prize Youth Award for best short film.
The Iris Prize Festival is looking for young people aged between 14 and 17 years of age who love film to be judges at this year’s Cardiff-based lesbian and gay film festival. Those selected will get a private screening of some of the best short films produced over the past 12 months; a chance to meet the 10-strong Iris Prize International Jury, and a VIP ticket to attend the exclusive 2014 Iris Awards presented by Amy Lamé.

10 young people will be invited to be members of the Iris Prize Youth Jury 2014 sponsored by Cardiff University. The participants will have an unprecedented opportunity to develop their creative skills as well as allowing the next generation direct access to positive LGBT role models within the film industry.

The programme includes:

1. Welcome and Introduction by Festival Chair Andrew Pierce (Daily Mail) and Festival Director Berwyn Rowlands.

2. A private screening of shorts from the 2014 festival eligible for the youth award

3. Round table discussion with members of the Iris Prize Juries including the International and Best of British.

4. Lunch with festival delegates

5. Formal jury session supervised by TBC

6. Keeping the decision a secret for 24 hrs!

7. Present the Award during the Iris Awards on Sunday 12 October

We will notify the successful individuals on Friday 26 September 2014.
