Join director Andrew Haigh for a retrospective conversation on his breakthrough film Weekend, part of the Iris Prize selection in 2011 and still regarded as one of the most influential and tender depictions of queer love on screen. Haigh reflects on making the film fifteen years on, its lasting impact on LGBTQ+ cinema, and how it shaped the path of his career, from 45 Years and Looking to All of Us Strangers.

Part of the Iris Education Day. School children from across South Wales will attend a talk delivered by an industry professional, with discussions about the work they have conducted and how diversity and inclusion intersects with a career in the tv and film industry. Following this session they take what they have learnt and vote on the Youth Jury winner from a curated programme of short films.
