Postcards from London

Art, fantasy and sexuality come together in this vividly shot film as Jim (Harris Dickinson) moves to the bright lights of London in search of like-minded souls with a love of culture and art.

DIRECTOR:

Steve McLean

UK, 88 mins

Jim (Beach Rats star Harris Dickinson) moves from a quiet small town to the bright lights of London, in the hope of finding like-minded souls with a love of culture and art. There, he finds himself drawn into a band of elite male escorts, the Raconteurs, whose clients are the artists and intellectuals of a stylised, magic-realist version of London’s Soho. Art, fantasy and sexuality come together in this vividly shot film from writer/director Steve McLean, whose 1994 film Postcards from America explored the life and work of gay artist David Wojnarowicz.

Featuring a riveting and candid performance by Harris Dickinson, McLean’s motion picture is rife with playful innuendos and pop culture elements…” – Gay Essential

Director Steve McClean will be joining Iris in Cardiff for a Q&A following the film
