An emotional, beautiful and haunting video – a tribute to the Class of 2015!

These are the best of the best – the 30 short films competing for the 2015 Iris Prize – the world’s largest LGBT short film prize at £30,000 supported by The Michael Bishop Foundation. Music to accompany the montage has been written and performed by up and coming Cardiff singer Lily Beau who recorded a version of her song Tonight especially for the video. Accompanied on viola by Bernard Kane the music was recorded and produced by Tic Ashfield at John Hardy Music. “Iris is all about supporting and encouraging talent in film making. We are delighted that we can also support emerging talent in music. Lilly Beau is going to be a star and you can hear her sing this song live at the Iris Awards,” said Festival Director Berwyn Rowlands. Films from 18 countries have made it to the final 30 including an entry for the first time from the Czech Republic joining work from Canada, Germany, Brazil, Israel, Norway, The Netherlands, Ireland, India, Australia, US, Portugal, New Zealand, Mexico, Chile, Denmark, and the UK. The US once again secures the largest number of films in competition with an impressive 8 out of the final 30 with Denmark in second place with three films. Watch the 2015 Iris Prize Montage here:
