Sam Arbor is a queer writer/director from Manchester. In film, Sam’s latest short, BABA, co-written and co-directed by Adam Ali, won the Iris Prize 2021. Aged 16, Sam won the BFI’s ‘most promising talent’ award at the Future Film Festival 2016, awarding BFI funding for a short. He wrote and directed ‘LIFELINE’, which earned a nomination for Best Narrative Short at BAFTA qualifying International Rhode Island Film Festival. In theatre, Sam’s co-written and directed play Butterfly played at the VAULT Theatre London, and The Guardian reviewed it as “a brilliant show full of heart”. Sam has worked as a second unit director for Heartstopper [Netflix].
