Bring your family to join the Iris Family!

The Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival has a simple aim, to share LGBTQ+ stories with as wide an audience as possible – and, whilst much of Iris is available online, we know that it’s sometimes important for parents and carers to be able to join us in person too, to be able to attend events such as Industry Day and enjoy the post screening Q&As and the joy of being in an audience together in real life – so we’ve made some changes and we’re delighted to introduce the Iris Creche and partner with Chapter for their ‘Carry on Screaming’ screening during the week of the Festival.

The Iris Creche

This year, we are pleased to offer a free creche on certain days at Iris to enable parents and carers to come and enjoy the festival while their children are cared for by Jacqueline James’ team from South Riverside Community Development Centre.

We’ll have two registered childcare workers on site and the creche will be available at the following times:

  • Tuesday 14 October – Iris Prize Community Day (From 14:30 until 18:30)
  • Wednesday 15 October – Iris Industry Day (From 09:30 until 18:30)
  • Friday 17 October – Iris Prize Best British Day (From 10:30 until 18:30)

Please email Grant@irisprize.org with the following information in order to express your interest and get further details . Bookings will be accepted on a first come, first served basis

  • Your Name
  • Child Name(s)
  • Child Age(s)
  • What you are attending at the Festival
  • When and for how long you’d like to book your child(ren) in to the creche

All children should be brought with their own drinks and any under 3s should be brought with their own pushchair and their own food and drinks.

If there is any capacity on the day we will allow ‘walk ins’ but please do book to avoid disappointment.

Carry on Screaming

Carry on Screaming films are shown every Friday at Chapter. They allow parents or carers with a child under eighteen months to see a film without having to worry about causing a disturbance, and with adjustments to the cinema environment to make it as convenient and comfortable as possible. It’s free entry for babies, but please be aware: no baby, no entry!

Iris is pleased to be partnering with Chapter to offer an additional screening of Screams from the Tower during this year’s Iris Prize LHDTQ+ Film Festival on Friday 17 October at 1pm where we’ll introduce the director, Cory Wexler Grant and have the opportunity for a coffee and a chat in the cafe after the screening.

Tickets can be purchased on the Chapter website:

The Iris Cafe Bar

Throughout the Festival, our cafe bar on Level 2 of Stadium Plaza is open from 30 minutes before the first event each day and we’re always delighted to welcome you and your family to join us for a coffee and a chat with the Iris family and filmmakers, whether or not you’re able to join us for a screening.

Iris i Deuluoedd

Dewch â’ch teulu i ymuno â Theulu Iris!

Mae Gŵyl Ffilm LHDTQ+ Iris Prize yn anelu’n syml at rannu straeon LHDTQ+ gyda chynulleidfa mor eang â phosib – ac er bod llawer o gynnwys Iris ar gael ar-lein, rydym yn deall ei bod yn bwysig weithiau i rieni a gofalwyr allu ymuno â ni wyneb yn wyneb hefyd. Mae digwyddiadau fel Diwrnod y Diwydiant, sesiynau holi ac ateb ar ôl dangosiadau, a’r llawenydd o fod mewn cynulleidfa go iawn yn brofiadau arbennig – felly rydym wedi gwneud rhai newidiadau ac yn falch o gyflwyno Crèche Iris ac o gydweithio â Chapter ar eu dangosiad ‘Carry on Screaming’ yn ystod wythnos yr Ŵyl.

Crèche Iris

Eleni, rydym yn falch o gynnig crèche am ddim ar rai dyddiau yn Iris i alluogi rhieni a gofalwyr i fwynhau’r ŵyl tra bod eu plant yn cael gofal gan dîm Jacqueline James o Ganolfan Datblygu Cymunedol De Riverside.

Bydd dau weithiwr gofal plant cofrestredig ar y safle, a bydd y crèche ar gael ar yr amseroedd canlynol:

  • Dydd Mawrth 14 Hydref – Diwrnod Cymunedol Iris Prize (14:30 tan 18:30)
  • Dydd Mercher 15 Hydref – Diwrnod Diwydiant Iris (09:30 tan 18:30)
  • Dydd Gwener 17 Hydref – Diwrnod Gorau Prydain Iris Prize (10:30 tan 18:30)

I fynegi diddordeb a chael rhagor o fanylion, anfonwch e-bost at Grant@irisprize.org gyda’r wybodaeth ganlynol:

  • Eich Enw
  • Enw(au)’r Plentyn
  • Oed(au)’r Plentyn
  • Beth rydych yn mynychu yn yr Ŵyl
  • Pryd a pha hyd rydych am archebu lle i’ch plentyn(nau) yn y crèche

Dylai pob plentyn ddod gyda’u diodydd eu hunain, ac os ydynt o dan 3 oed, dylent ddod â’u bwyd, diodydd a’u cadair wthio eu hunain.

Os oes lle ar gael ar y diwrnod, byddwn yn derbyn ‘cerddwyr i mewn’, ond archebwch ymlaen llaw i osgoi siom.

Sgrechiwch Fel Y Mynnwch

Mae ffilmiau Sgrechiwch Fel Y Mynnwch yn cael eu dangos bob dydd Gwener yn Chapter. Maent yn caniatáu i rieni neu ofalwyr gyda phlentyn o dan ddeunaw mis fwynhau ffilm heb boeni am darfu, gyda newidiadau i’r amgylchedd sinema i’w gwneud mor gyfleus a chysurus â phosib. Mae mynediad am ddim i fabanod, ond cofiwch: dim babi, dim mynediad!

Mae Iris yn falch o gydweithio â Chapter i gynnig dangosiad ychwanegol o Screams from the Tower yn ystod Gŵyl Ffilm LHDTQ+ Iris Prize eleni ar Dydd Gwener 17 Hydref am 1pm, lle byddwn yn cyflwyno’r cyfarwyddwr, Cory Wexler Grant, ac yn cael cyfle i gael coffi a sgwrs yn y caffi ar ôl y dangosiad.

Gellir prynu tocynnau ar wefan Chapter:

Bar Caffi Iris

Drwy gydol yr Ŵyl, mae ein bar caffi ar Lefel 2 o Plaza’r Stadiwm ar agor 30 munud cyn digwyddiad cyntaf y dydd, ac rydym wastad yn falch o’ch croesawu chi a’ch teulu i ymuno â ni am goffi a sgwrs gyda theulu Iris a’r gwneuthurwyr ffilm, p’un a ydych yn dod i ddangosiad ai peidio.
